This week we will read about Deportes(Sports). Our objectives will be:
- ready various books about Deportes to broaden our vocabulary (Epic! collection assignment)
- write about sports you like to play in PE. (What sports do you play? Which is your favorite? Who do you play with?)
- listen to Ms.Ivary read the book El fútbol me hace feliz; define the main idea and find supporting details after reading
- focus on using correct spelling in sentences on our Vamos a corregir
- practice using the reading strategy main idea and details while reading this week

This week we will continue working on Chapter 17 Addition and Subtraction to 100. Our objectives will be:
- Subtract a 1-digit or a 2-digit number from a 2-digit number without regrouping
- subtract a 1-digit number from a 2-digit number with regrouping
- subtract a 2-digit number with regrouping
Science
Making fossils
We will be learning more about paleontologists and dinosaurs this week. The class will read several books about different types of dinosaurs and then have a chance to draw a dinosaur and it’s imagined habitat.
Our objectives are to:
- Explain how we know about dinosaurs
- Describe fossils
- Describe various dinosaurs
- Explain how fossils provide information about the history of the earth
- Understand that much of our knowledge of the earth and its history is the result of the work of many scientist
Learning about the Louisiana Territory
History & Geography
Mapping the Louisiana Purchase
The class will be learning about Thomas Jefferson’s exploration plan of the land west of the Mississippi and how he enlisted an expedition led by Lewis and Clark. We will be reading about how the journey began this week.
Our objectives are to:
- Locate the Mississippi River on a map
- Locate the Rocky Mountains on a map
- Identify and locate the Louisiana Territory on a map
- Understand the significance of the Louisiana Territory and Purchase
- Explain the reason that Lewis and Clark went on their expedition
Understand that there were many, many Native American tribes living in the Louisiana Territory before the Lewis and Clark expedition
