Nursery Rhymes
Humpty Dumpty was so much fun this week! We had a blast acting out the rhyme. It was especially fun to reach way up arriba and then act out Humpty falling se cayó.
Students did a great job sequencing the order of events from the story verbally and in pictures.
We completed a few multi-step projects. These are great activities as they provide practice focusing during instruction/modeling and then the student must recall the correct order of tasks for correct completion. These activities also provided fine-motor skills practice with tearing, cutting, coloring, and painting.
We also used our musical instruments to practice staying in rhythm. Students took turns with different musical instruments and created loud and soft sounds, fast and slow rhythms.
This week we learned all about the letter L. The letter L makes the same sound in English and Spanish. We form the letter L from the top down. The lowercase L is either a straight line down or a line down with a little monkey tale at the bottom. Números This week we continued working with the number 9. We formed groups of 9, subtracted from 9, added up to 9, wrote the 9, identified the 9 amongst other numbers, etc. At this age adding and subtracting are done with concrete objects.
